Covergirl Stay Fabulous Liquid Foundation Review

Hi everyone! I hope you all had lovely weekends.

Today I'll be reviewing Covergirl's Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation.

This foundation has an SPF of 20, which was one of the main reasons I got it - I had been looking for a good foundation with UV protection for the summer. The foundation doesn't provide a huge amount of coverage, however it does apply wonderfully smoothly, and is light and creamy in texture, which I think will be a huge asset in summer months when putting heavy foundation on will be the last thing I'll want to do. The foundation was also very affordable; I purchased mine for $13 at a drug store.

Look complete!

I hope this review was helpful for you! Have a wonderful week :)

My First RED LIPSTICK

Happy Thursday!

I just recently purchased Revlon's matte balm (not technically a lipstick, but hey, I'm counting it) and decided to share this excitement with you!

I put it on this morning before going downtown - about three or so hours ago - and the colour is still incredibly vibrant. It applies easily, almost like a marker would, with a pointed crayon-shaped tip.

I bought mine for $9.99 at London Drugs

The shade I bought is Standout. The matte balm came in a variety of colours, from corals to bright pinks to deep plums. I'll definitely be expanding my selection!

Nail of the Day: Essie's Turquoise and Caicos

Hello everyone!

I know I haven't made a post in a while, things have been quite busy! But I had a relaxed moment today and decided to write a post for you guys. So here's my take on Essie's Turquoise and Caicos nail polish (one of my favourites!)

Turquoise and Caicos is a really lovely, summery colour. And, as always, the Essie nail polish is a perfect texture and consistency - with two coats, I had a nice opaque colour. It does take at least two coats, though, if you want a seamless, solid, bold colour.

Hope you all had a lovely Monday!

Star Trek, and Life in General

I was feeling the need to write a blog post, but no single topic came to mind. So here's my take on Star Trek: Into Darkness, plus a little life update.
Click pictures for larger size
First of all, Star Trek: Into Darkness. SPOILER ALERT.

I. Loved. It.

Some Benedict Beauty
Honestly. I am so glad I finally saw it! The effects, firstly, were stunning. Seriously breath-taking. The movie was extremely pleasing to the eye, and incredibly realistic with under water shots and space scenes and all that. It was all so screen-shottable. Is that a word? I'm making it one.

The acting was also incredible - one of the main reasons I went and saw the movie in the first place was for Benedict Cumberbatch (I even wore my Sherlock shirt to accentuate this), and he did not disappoint. He played an amazing villian; he was believable and downright sinister. Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine, also, have special places in my heart, and I thought they did an amazing job. And can I just say, Chris Pine's eyes are GORGEOUS.
Wait a moment while I get lost in Pine's eyes

Here's a bit of villian-hero dialogue that will give you chills:
"I am better."
"At what?"
"Everything."

And, my ultimate favourite Star Trek character, Scotty, was wonderful, as I knew he would be! I absolutely adore Simon Pegg, in Hot Fuzz, Run Fatboy Run, Shaun of the Dead... you name it... he is brilliant in so many ways! Scotty included!

Here's Scotty being all intense.
If I wanted to complain, I'd say the movie was a bit predictable, and the out-of-nowhere underwear scene was pretty unnecessary. But I loved the movie, regardless. Perhaps even more than the first!

Lastly, LIFE: Why I haven't been updating nearly as much or as interestingly as I should like.
I don't want to place blame, but it's totally because of grade twelve.

I only have about four weeks to go until I graduate (!!!!!) but it feels like an age. I am ready to be done!

Things already feel like they're beginning to wind down, though... the (painful) calculus final was today, we're doing valedictorian speeches in English Lit, and the "Green to Grad" list is up. Thankfully, I am green to grad, yay!

I am excited for prom, though, I think that will be tons of fun. I got my dress back from alterations today, and it fits perfectly! Sorry, you won't be seeing any pictures until the day of, when I've got the entire look put together ;) but I'll give you a hint: one strap.

And that's that. I really am sorry I haven't been updating recently, but things will probably be pretty slow from now until grad, or at least until I can actually think of something worthwhile to write about. I apologize for this all-over-the-place post...

Do let me know what you would like to hear from me in the future, maybe it will give me some ideas!

Iron Man 3 Thoughts (SPOILERS)

I finally saw Iron Man 3 this past Saturday! LOVED IT!

I was a bit nervous going into it that it wouldn't fit my expectations, and tried desperately to not have any massive expectations because of that. I'd heard a lot of mixed opinions about the movie (worst case - it sucked ) and didn't really want those to taint my own opinion. So I tried to stay open-minded.

Honestly, there was nothing to worry about. Spoilers ahead! There were a lot of complaints about the fact that Tony Stark was a lot more fragile in this movie - he was struggling with coping with what happened in New York with Loki - but honestly, if you're a guy like Tony Stark, used to logical and reasonable things like technology and science, wouldn't you be a bit rattled too if aliens showed up at your front doorstep?

Even though I felt bad for him about the whole anxiety thing, I still didn't quite understand why he basically told the Mandarin where he lived. I think it was pretty obvious he was going to get attacked pretty soon after dishing that little piece of information. As the house was being demolished, Stark and Potts still inside, Tony Stark controlled his suit prototype to encase Pepper, which was pretty cool. She works the suit!

I am also going to say now that I adore Pepper Potts. She is fantastic. And badass. And so underrated! I mean, come on, she basically finished off the bad guy!

Seeing all the suits line up is MASSIVELY grin-inducing
Lastly - and this may be the largest spoiler of all, so LEAVE NOW if you don't want to see this - I was kind of sad that all of Tony's awesome suits were destroyed! I mean, I understand why, he was getting dangerously close to obsession with them, but they were just so darn cool. I wanted one for myself, really. Hopefully he doesn't need them in the next Avengers movie. If he'll even be in that movie, that is. Fingers crossed.

Now, I eagerly await Star Trek: Into Darkness, Catching Fire, and the next Hobbit installment. Are there any movies or shows you are excited for?

Posts involving hair products, nail polishes, and baking to come soon!

Trailer Tuesday

There are two trailers I would like to bring up on this fine Tuesday - Man of Steel and Star Trek Into Darkness. Two epic trailers. One much-less-epic post.

Can I just start this off by saying Henry Cavill is beautiful? Yes? Good. Because he is.

So as many of you must know, the third Man of Steel trailer came out today. And it is a beautiful thing indeed.

I was never that massive of a Superman fan, but I am beginning to be seriously excited for this movie. Maybe because it's directed by Christopher Nolan, or because the graphics look incredible, or HENRY CAVILL, but I am.

When I heard they were rebooting Superman, I was sceptical. But they aren't really rebooting it... they're creating a whole new feel to the superhero. Watching this trailer and the previous two has made me realize just how well the people behind this whole thing are doing this. The trailer in itself is gorgeous, intense, and breath-taking. I can only imagine how epic the movie will be.

Next - Star Trek Into Darkness.

!!!!!!!

Wordless excitement!!!

I am seriously excited for the next Star Trek instalment. This trailer is fantastic; we finally get to see and hear Benedict Cumberbatch's chilling portrayal of the villain, we see more of the amazingly done graphics we have come to love, and really, we just get a wonderful taste of what the movie will be like. It's intense, action-packed, and overall, awesome. I cannot wait for the movie.

So there are my two trailer picks for the week - two movies I am looking forward to seeing! What movies are you excited for?

Live Clean follow-up

Helloooo! So you may or may not remember this, but a while ago I did a review on the Live Clean Argan Oil Smooth and Shine Cream! Here's the link: http://raznilla.blogspot.ca/2013/02/live-clean-review.html

I used that product again today and am pretty happy with my findings! I used it instead of my usual leave-in conditioner, and really liked the way it left my hair.

Sorry about the brightness of the photos - I used my webcam for these and the quality SUCKS.

I had to include the tea, sorry. Tea and I go everywhere together!

A really nice product, I'm really liking it! The only thing is, it left my hair a littttlleee bit frizzier than it is with my usual leave-in conditioner, but that could have also been because of the abysmal weather we've been having!

So there, real proof that this product works. Give it a go!

Tuesday, 5 March 2013

But today is Tuesday too!

Supernatural, anyone? No? Okay. Couldn't resist. Sorry.

First of all, THEME CHANGE! My blog looks different. Yay!

Secondly, ESPIONAGE MAKE-UP! You may recall my post from yesterday in which I excitedly babbled about Comicon. One of the things I purchased was eyeshadow from Espionage Cosmetics! I highly encourage you to check them out! Tons of fantastic colours! And all fandom related lines - the one I bought is part of the Browncoats collection :D

And you know what's exciting? The eyeshadow isn't just an eyeshadow. They actually call it everything shadow. Here's a list of all the wondrous things it can do:

  • Eyeshadow
  • Lash colour
  • Highlighter
  • Blush
  • Temporary hair colour
  • Acrylic colour
  • Body shimmer
  • Nail colour
  • Lip stain
  • Brow filler
  • Lip gloss
  • Contour
  • Glitter tattoos
  • Eyeliner
  • Warpaint
Whoa. I know.

I still need to figure out how to do the majority of these things (all of them except eyeshadow, actually!) but I'm definitely looking forward to experimenting with the one I got! I really love the colour I bought - it's called Mrs. Reynolds and is this really nice shimmery pink.

 I love the packaging!

I think this colour would work really nicely as a blush (which I can totally do - see list above!!) so I may give that a try! It's a very smooth, nice consistency and goes on super well.

Very shimmery and dainty!

To sum up, I am totally going to buy more Espionage products! I love this one so far and am really excited to try different looks out with it. Go check them out! Here's the link again! espionagecosmetics.com

Live Clean Review

I've tried out this product - Live Clean's Argan Oil Smooth & Shine Cream - and here are some of my thoughts!

I got this product quite by accident, actually! I have Live Clean leave-in conditioner and love it, and am running a bit low. I asked my mum to pick me up some and she brought this back for me, so instead of make a fuss I decided to give it a go!

First of all, it smells amazing. Coconut, almost. I actually am not 100% sure what the smell is but it is a lovely one.

The texture, as well, is really nice. It's super smooth and light, and doesn't leave any residue or anything behind. I found it left my curls softer and less frizzy. I've only used it to touch up single curls or small chunks of curls, and it's worked really well that way. I did find, though, that you need a pretty decent amount of it for it to do anything noticeable to your hair. Maybe that's just me and my stubborn hair, though! I may experiment a bit more with it, but I'm liking what it does!

I also love the environmentally friendly part of it, and along with that, how it has, like, zero bad ingredients in it. The packaging is even recyclable!

Overall, an awesome product! I'd definitely recommend this for curly haired people to try out, and I'd even guess it would work in other hair types as well! Give it a try!
