Almost the Weekend

Hi everyone!

It was an absolutely gorgeous day today, and since my only class today ended at 9:30, I decided to grab my camera, grab a coffee, and wander around downtown. Such a good decision.

Goodness me, was downtown purdy. I had a lovely time strolling around and simply enjoying the warmth of the sun (though there is still a definite chill in the air!).

I didn't get a ton of shopping done, but I did hit up some excellent bra sales! 50% off at La Senza, it was as if I were dreaming! I got one balconier bra in a gorgeous purple colour from there for $20, and another $20 bra from H&M. There's something so satisfying about bra shopping, I love it.

Anyway, I hope you all had wonderful weeks, and have equally wonderful weekends!

Also, I have a flickr account - if you check it out I would be forever greatful! Click here to see it.

Online Shopping Wishlist

Hey everyone! It's Thuuursday. And as I've spent the last hour or so browsing stores online instead of studying, I thought I'd share some of my finds with you!

Wishlist.

  1. Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron. I've been wanting a new flat iron for a while now, yet want to do lots of research and such before I decide on one! I've heard amazing things about this Sedu flat iron.
  2. Iced Coffee Date Wedges from Modcloth. These shoes are so cute. A pair of wedges like these are just what I need for the spring and summer!
  3. Food Stylista Dress from Modcloth. I absolutely adore Modcloth's selection of dresses. One day, after I've accumulated a decent amount of money, I feel I must go on a Modcloth dress buying spree.
  4. Warm Palette from Coastal Scents. So. Many. Colours. Plus it's on sale right now! That must be a sign!
  5. Tortoise Shades from Satterday. A new pair of sunglasses is high on my list right now, and this pair is adorable. Definitely keeping my eyes open for a similar pair when I next go shopping.
There is my wishlist! SO many cute things available right now. What are some online stores you enjoy perusing?

Dorm Room Excitement

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday!

I recently did a full dorm room clean up and got myself a ficus. Pretty cool, I know! (Only somewhat sarcastic here, I'm actually really excited about the ficus)

Our ficus' name is Alex and he's a pretty rad ficus
Why a ficus of all plants, you may ask? I personally hadn't even heard of ficuses until my mother, an avid gardener, told me they make ideal indoor plants because they require minimal watering, are well-suited to indoor sun conditions, and are very easy to maintain.

It's been here for a little less than a week and is already improving the general feel and liveliness of my dorm room. It may also help that I cleaned, and my room is now organized as well. Hopefully it stays neat!

New Shoes

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I went shopping downtown, and though the main purpose of the trip was finding presents for the holidays, I did manage to find a new pair of boots as well. I've just been in such a shopping mood lately!

ELYTA Ankle Boots - ALDO
I bought these boots at ALDO yesterday, on sale for $39.98. The boots have a slight heel, about an inch and a half or so. They also came in black, and a green-brown colour.

These boots are incredibly comfortable, and I think they will go with practically any outfit. I am very pleased with them!

I also did manage to find some Christmas presents yesterday! I was hoping to find some cute, cheap decorations for my dorm room, but I'm still looking. I'll keep you all updated!

I hope you all had lovely weekends!

A Handful of Things

Hello everyone!

I have been in and around the city many times in the last couple of weeks and have therefore got a wonderful amount of shopping done. Most has been for university - dorm room items and such - but I have managed to squeeze in a little bit of more personal shopping as well. Here are some things I have purchased!

From American Eagle, on sale for $20
Mighty Wallet for $18
Tear and water resistant, 100% eco-friendly
And the inside - Postcard themed
Body Butter from the Body Shop, 3 for $12
Hazelnut, Grapefruit, and Satsuma
Brown leather waist belt, $28
Burberry Body Tender perfume
Back-to-school shopping for essentials ain't so much fun, but I do enjoy stocking up on things I don't really need so much as want. I have been getting a ton of awesome and adorable dorm room necessities, though, which I will soon share!

Have a lovely weekend!

July Favourites

A bit late, I know! I've been so busy! But here it is: July favourites.

Favourite Shoe Purchase:
American Eagle Javelin Oxford
I bought these beauties a little while ago, and I am in love. They are super comfortable, cute, and go with just about anything! They were $50, but I got them at a student discount for $45.

Favourite Clothing Purchase:
American Eagle Classic Rinse Skinny Jeans
I've been looking for a new pair of simple, classic skinny jeans for a while, and when I heard American Eagle was having a jeans sale, I jumped at the opportunity. I absolutely love American Eagle jeans - I think every pair I own is from that store! This pair is no exception; they fit exceptionally well, are comfortably stretchy, were only $30.

Favourite Music:
The Paper Kites Woodland EP
I bought this EP by The Paper Kites, and I am so glad I did. Their songs are soothing, clever, and just feel-good in general. If you're a fan of indie-acoustic, I would definitely recommend them. I bought the EP for $4.99 on iTunes.

Favourite Cosmetic:
Burberry Body Perfume
Does perfume count as a cosmetic? I'm going to say it does, because I am so excited about this perfume. I got a small sample of it and absolutely adore the scent - it's light, fresh, and makes me feel like running through a field of daisies. I am trying currently to get my hands on a full bottle.

Haullll

Over the last couple of weeks I've bought a couple skirts and dresses at the Garage, and I thought I would share.

Close-up of the buttons on the front
I bought this skirt at the Garage for $30. It comes in a lot of cute patterns - I was torn between this one and a dark burgundy one - and is very comfortable and fun to wear! It has an elastic waist and button detailing on the front.

I also bought this summer dress for I believe $30 as well. It has pockets! It's length is about mid-thigh, and it's super comfortable, so I'll be wearing it lots. The pattern is little blue, white, and pink flowers, if you're having difficulty telling from the picture. Honestly, though, the pockets were the main selling point for me!

I also finally found a good pair of black flats, though that isn't nearly as exciting as buying dresses and skirts. I found a good pair at Payless shoes for around $25.

I've been working a lot more since the start of summer, and while that's been tiring, it's also been pretty great getting my paychecks. Hopefully more shopping soon!

Successful Friday!

Hello, everyone! How are things? Good, I hope!

I had a brief but GOOD shopping trip yesterday. A couple friends went shopping for the day, me included, and while I couldn't stay for the entire time, I did manage to get a couple hours of solid shopping in. I didn't buy many things, but I found things that I had been wanting for a while, so I'm happy!

First of all, I bought a jean jacket, which is something that has been on my wishlist for a while. I found one at H&M, and I'm very happy with it! It was $38. It's medium wash and vaguely distressed, and I feel like it'll be a good thing to have when all I need is a light cover.

Photo credit to the H&M and Forever 21 websites, respectively.

Another thing I bought is a pair of patterned flats. I have a decent shoe collection, but am very low in the flat department! I bought these at Forever 21 for $15, and I don't think they'll last more than a year of good use, but I don't mind, since they were so cheap! I will definitely use them a lot in the summer.

Lastly, and most excitedly, I got my own laptop! AHHHHHH! I am blogging to you all on it right now! It's a Sony VAIO. 14" screen. 16GB. i7 core. It's WONDERFUL. My dad surprised me yesterday by going to pick it up on our way home from shopping. Just in time for university next year!

Speaking of Dad, he's just convinced me to do some yard work today. So it's time for me to wrap up. Bye! Have a lovely weekend!

May 3rd Shopping

I went shopping today! Much fun!

It was beautifully sunny, first off, which just made it that much better! Instead of staying inside the mall all day, we walked outside and checked out all the cute little boutiques. Tons of stuff to be seen!

Another pleated skirt to add to my closet!
I bought another pleated skirt, which I'm really excited about. I have one, and love thin pleats like this! I absolutely love the colour as well; it's this gorgeous turquoisey blue colour. (You can click on the pictures to enlarge.)

I also bought a Pride & Prejudice v-neck t-shirt which I LOVE. It has this pretty feather design on the front... I think it may have been an edition of the book at some point, it seems like it could have been! It's awesome. I love it.

One high-class cat!
And, of course, another pin. How could I not?! We went into this FANTASTIC store that's basically all stationary and journal and book related, and I found so many cute two dollar things that I ended up spending, like, twenty-five dollars. Small things add up! I bought an adorable, dapper cat pin, and also found a card for my dad for his birthday, a card for Mother's Day, and a journal for my mum for Mother's Day. (Let's hope she doesn't see this post!) The journal is so cool - there were all these differently themed journals. The one I got her was music, because that's her passion, but there were book-themed ones, photography-themed ones, you name it! Basically, every few pages, there's a little inspirational quote about whatever theme the journal has. Super cool.

I was tempted to buy a journal for myself as well!
And, of course, we ate some marvellous food! We had lunch at an awesome, classy tea-and-pastry place, indulged in Purdy's chocolates, and ended the day with floats and milkshakes. Will I be eating nothing but vegetables for the next week? Yes. Yes I will.
Gorgeous antique design!

All in all, a lovely day! I hadn't gone shopping in MUCH too long, so it was nice to get that out of my system. Plus, the weather was absolutely perfect for the day, which just added to the overall summery feeling that strolling around downtown was giving me.

I hope you all have wonderful weekends!

Shoppingggg

So I went shopping with my mum this weekend! What fun!

I didn't really get a whole lot of anything, but I am very pleased with what I did get! I am just going to say, right now, that I LOVE SALES. Okay. That's off my chest.

And that nicely segues into this BAG THAT I GOT ON SALE. Originally $70. Got it for $25. Now is that great or what?!

I have wanted a Kipling bag for the longest time, and have finally got my hands on one! They're just great multi-purpose bags and last forever.

And plus, all Kipling bags come with these little monkeys. Now, real monkeys creep me out in ways I can't fully describe, but these little Kipling monkeys are so cute! Still vaguely creepy, but cute!

Next, a skirt! It's got buttons down the front!!
The brand is Love Riche.

And lastly, a floral blouse from Garage! This is one recent style I am personally very fond of - floral, loose tops.

So like I said, not a ton of things, but I am super happy with my finds!

I also went with my family to see Life of Pi, which was AMAZING. When I was watching the Oscars and saw the ridiculous amount of awards it won, I was all grumbly, like "ahhl;agjkla not the Hobbit?! Not Skyfall?!?" But now that I've seen it, I totally get it. Absolutely gorgeous movie, the effects and cinematography and all that was spectacular! Made me laugh, made me cry. Great movie.

That's all for now! BYEEE!
